Teal'c's place and date of birth is unknown since he was not born on Earth, but in 2000, he turned 103 years old(Season 4's "The Light"). He was likely born on the planet ruled by the Goa'uld, Chronos, as his father (name unknown) was the Goa'uld's First Prime when Teal'c was a child. At 10(I'm guessing), his father lost a battle and as punishment, was murdered by Chronos. The Goa'uld then banished Teal'c and his mother (name unknown) from his world. They traveled to Chulak, controlled by the enemy of Chronos, Apophis, where Teal'c vowed to become the Goa'uld's First Prime so he could exact his revenge for the murder of his father. (Ironically, Teal'c got his chance to do just that but as a member of SG-1.)

Early in his training, Teal'c befriended Valar, a fellow warrior, and Bra'tac, Apophis' First Prime. During the years that followed, Teal'c learned from Bra'tac that the Goa'uld were not gods. Sometime later, he married a Jaffa woman named Drey'auc and 30 years later(I'm guessing), he took Bra'tac's place as First Prime.

Several years passed and one of the victorious battles Teal'c commanded was over a rival First Prime, Arkad. His Goa'uld master is unknown(in canon), but he or she was a sun god/goddess of some sort as the tattoo on Arkad's forehead depicts a rising sun and its rays. In the battle, Arkad lost family and swore revenge, which he then exacted by killing Teal'c's mother. Teal'c could not, as First Prime of Apophis, go after Arkad, but in 2007, he finally achieved his revenge.

About 50 years later, his wife had a son, Rya'c, and ten years after that, in 1997, Teal'c met the humans of Earth, the Tau'ri. Seeing the opportunity he'd been waiting for, he abandoned his post as First Prime, and his wife and son as well, to join the Tau'ri in the fight to rid the galaxy of the Goa'uld.

In 2002(Season 6's "Changeling"), Teal'c and Bra'tac lost their primtahs (symbiotes) and have been on the drug tretonin ever since. In 2002, Teal'c also lost his wife, Drey'auc, when she died after her primtah reached maturity and she refused another. In 2003, Teal'c met Ishta, a Jaffa warrior woman, and became her lover. Later that year, his son, Rya'c, met and married a fellow warrior friend of Ishta's. Teal'c has not been in contact with Ishta, or Rya'c, since 2005, but they were last spoken of(2007) regarding a Jaffa rebellion against the Ori.

Odds and Ends

Teal'c tried to move off base and get his own apartment in 2004(season 7's "Affinity"), but because he didn't know the rules of the culture, he ended up getting into trouble (with help from some rogue NID operatives) and moved back to the SGC. Cameron Mitchell has since made it his mission to get Teal'c another apartment.

Teal'c loves sci-fi films, specifically Star Wars, and has become something of an afficionado of Star Wars facts and lore. He regularly meditates, despite the loss of his primtah, and he works out in the base gym. Daniel Jackson has, at times, been his partner during both activities.

Teal'c's favorite Tau'ri food seems to be everything and he has quite a healthy appetite. He does not, however, imbibe alcohol of any kind.
